These are strange times we find ourselves in, with the coronavirus pandemic putting Britain – and much of the wider world – into lockdown, so while you're unlikely to be heading out with a tripod over your shoulder any time soon, we're looking forward to a time when all this is over. To that end, fine art architecture artist Tony Sellen pounds the city streets of London and shares the secrets behind his amazing images of buildings.
Creative portrait photographer Mark O'Leary teaches our Apprentice to shoot a steampunk-themed shoot in his professional studio, with the aid of a model and makeup artist, costume changes and plentiful props.
Marine photographer Tony Wu tells tales of his adventures in the briny blue, as he settles into the N-Photo interview hotseat and reveals how he's become one of the world's foremost experts on whale poo…
Photojournalist Paul Gains heads to the pampas of Patagonia on the trail of the elusive puma, and tells how he got on in this issue’s On Assignment.
In this issue's Big Test we get up close and personal with magnificent macro lenses, ideal for shooting around your home and garden in these times of social distancing.
We also try out half-a-dozen top-loading holster bags for when you want to travel light in our Mini Test, and see whether the Nikon Z 24mm f/1.8 S is as razor sharp as all the other Z primes we've tested of late.
In our projects section, we demonstrate how to capture movement in a landscape by using a variable ND filter, get creative by using umbrellas as props in your portraits, use a dot sight to track fast-moving subjects, and focus stack and stitch a macro panorama for super-detailed, super-hi-res flower images.
We also explore the Nikon Image Space app, create double-exposures in Affinity Photo and enhance mono landscapes in Photoshop CC.
This issue also comes with a bonus Teach Yourself Macro Photography ebook, designed to help you shoot striking closeups.
