If you couldn’t guess from our glorious cover art, this issue we kick things off with a look at the perennial favourite topic of robots for our lead feature. I don’t know a 3D artist who hasn’t modelled some mecha at some point or another, and there’s such a diversity in style that we thought it was high time to investigate the art, artists and the genre itself.

It seems like every issue there is at least one beautifully constructed VFX-heavy movie to dissect, but this issue we take a look at The Aeronauts which, with its period drama look and feel, isn’t an obvious choice. Read on however to discover some of the fantastic work that went into creating such a visual feast.

We pride ourselves on offering you the best training and step-by-step guides to help you boost your skills, and this issue is no different. If you have ever fancied creating a stunning wildlife scene, or wondered about using Megascans in your work, then turn to page 60 for a fantastic piece on just this, which includes tips on vital elements such as colour contrast and chromatic aberration, which both go such a long way to a fully realised render but, to many, are still dark arts. I hope you enjoy the issue!
