His plan took shape in the form of The Ardennes Offensive, a surprise attack on what he considered the weak point in the Allied lines.
The Battle of the Bulge as it became commonly known in the West became one of the biggest land battles of World War 2, fought in harsh, freezing conditions that tested even the toughest of combat veterans.
