From the Editor

Procycling Editor

"Procycling is the ultimate guide to what's happening in professional cycling, one of the most controversial and certainly the most colourful sport around.

Since its launch in April 1999, Procycling has had one goal – to put its readers inside the world’s toughest sport. And after over ten years of sharing the highs and lows of the sport, Procycling is as much a part of the road racing scene as espresso, cobbles and the Tour de France’s Didi the Devil. Procycling isn’t just a magazine read by fans, it’s essential reading for participants of the sport itself, who frequently add their opinions and articles to its pages. Written by journalists who have spent a lifetime adoring the sport, Procycling also proudly showcases the incredible images of Tim De Waele, the undisputed number one cycling photographer in the world.

In the decade since its launch, professional road racing has undergone many changes and upheavals, all of which we’ve reported. The most significant of these has been the recent shift towards making the sport the same kind of slick, TV-friendly entertainment as Premier football and F1 racing. Teams such as the recently-launched Team Sky show how cycling is moving away from the organised chaos of the past into a era of previously unseen professionalism.

The relaunch of Procycling captures this mood. Bolder use of great photographer, unparalleled access to riders and credible opinion combines with a wider range of stories about the sports places, faces and races to give readers broader, richer content. Thicker paper throughout delivers richer, more vivid reproduction of photography while more daring covers display a determination to capture the sport’s current mood of forward-thinking optimism. Procycling aims to stay at the heart of the peloton and this new look reflects its determination to do so."
