Classic Rock Presents Slash (Deluxe Edition Fan Pack with Bonus Tracks)

Slash is the first true solo album from rock icon Slash, and it features an all-star roster of guest musicians including Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmeister, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother.

A major undertaking for Slash, he enlisted the services of producing partner Eric Valentine (Queens of Stone Age, The All-American Rejects) and compiled a rhythm section of bassist Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction) and drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails). Slash handled the majority of arranging and songwriting duties and hand-picked each guest artist. The album’s guests then worked collaboratively with Slash to round out each song.

“The idea was really simple in the beginning,” says Slash. “These are all artists I wanted to work with – that I thought it would be amazing to do something creative and collaborative with; I was so impressed with what everyone brought to the table. They were all so committed to doing a good job, and we had a lot of fun making these songs.”

This “fan pack” version includes a highly-collectable special issue of Classic Rock magazine dedicated to Slash’s career, plus a deluxe edition of the album.

Foreword from Slash

"Greetings comrades, here it is, my first solo record. Although it is a solo record, I have called in a few favours from some friends of mine to help me out. Some old friends, some new friends, but friends nonetheless. And they are all extremely brilliant vocalists that I hold in high regard as some of the best rock’n’roll singers around. Fantastic vocalists such as: Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy, Iggy Pop, Alice

Cooper, Ian Astbury, Fergie, Andrew Stockdale, Myles Kennedy, Chris Cornell, M Shadows, Adam Levine, Kid Rock, Rocco DeLuca and Nicole Scherzinger.

Not only that, I recruited some amazing musicians as well, like: Duff McKagan, Flea, Steve Farrone, Steven Adler, Dave Grohl and Izzy Stradlin. Not to mention Josh Freese and Chris Chaney who hold down the drums and bass for most of this record.

It’s been a true honour to get this fabulous cast of vocalists and musicians to collaborate with me to make this album, I think you’ll dig it. On top of all that, Classic Rock magazine came up with this really cool and unique idea to build a special issue of their magazine around my record with pictures and interviews with myself and the artists who contributed to the album.
